Sabbir Ahmed

Sabbir Ahmed grew up in Queens surrounded by his large extended family. (He has close to fifty cousins—many of them live in the same neighborhood and some even on the same block.)

While most of Ahmed’s immediate family works in finance, Ahmed took a different route and decided on entering the medical field. He shadowed doctors, nurses and PAs before deciding exactly which profession he wanted to pursue. “Every PA I met was so happy with their work,” Ahmed recalled. “They all had the same purpose and I wanted that same purpose in my own career.” He is most looking forward to his class in biochemistry. “I want to see how the whole body works together.”

A Trilingual Family: Everyone in Ahmed’s family is raised speaking three languages: English, Bengali and Arabic.
