Physician Assistant

Your career in medicine starts here.

Physician assistants are a vital part of health care teams and the medical community. They are the front line in providing primary care to patients in both hospitals and private practices, under the supervision of licensed physicians.

The School of Health Sciences has been educating physician assistants since 1972—our program has evolved alongside the health care field since then, and we now offer a dual BS/MS degree that prepares motivated students with the education and experience they need to build a career designed to help individuals, serve communities, and contribute to a healthier society.

Our professors are committed to helping you develop the practical skills, comprehensive knowledge, and compassion to thrive as a physician assistant. They’ll support you every step of the way, in the classroom, in the clinical phase, and in your career planning. Not many schools can promise this level of personal attention—because we are a small, private program, we are able to look out for each of our students and guide them toward success.

Between our two programs, on three campuses, we have a dominant presence in the New York metropolitan area, with clinical rotation sites throughout Long Island, the five boroughs, Westchester and New Jersey.

Our graduates secure great positions in reputable hospitals like Memorial Sloan Kettering, staff high-traffic emergency rooms and work with diverse patient populations. They also go onto rigorous post-graduate residency programs, getting hands-on experience in transplant surgery at New York Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center and emergency medicine at Israel's Medical Center of the Galilee, among others. Whatever your passion and area of focus, we can help you make a career of it.

Both physician assistant programs are accredited by ARC-PA (Standard A3.14a).
