Isabella Reichel, EdD

Associate Professor, Speech-Language Pathology

Isabella Reichel

Dr. Isabella K. Reichel is an associate professor at the Graduate Program in Speech-Language Pathology. She received her Higher Degree in Speech Pathology from Sloviansk State Pedagogical University, Ukraine; her M.A. from City University/CUNY and Doctorate in Education from Nova Southeastern University. She is a New York licensed and ASHA -certified speech-language pathologist and audiologist as well as a Board-certified specialist in Fluency Disorders and a member of the Initial Cadre of fluency specialists. She has been specializing in the treatment of stuttering and cluttering for over three decades. In her capacity as the Chair of the International Representatives Committee of the International Cluttering Association (ICA), Dr. Reichel conducts international surveys, leads multinational collaborative initiatives in research, and seminars at International Congresses and Conferences. She chairs the Deso Weiss Awards Committee sponsored by the Stuttering Foundation of America and the ICA. She is a member of the Editorial Review Board of two journals, Perspectives on Global Issues in Communication Sciences and Related Disorders, published by ASHA, and Chowanna, published by the Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Śląskiego in Poland. Dr. Reichel is a member of the Multicultural Task Force of the National Aphasia Association and she runs the Russian-speaking Aphasia group at the Touro College Speech and Hearing Center. Her articles and chapters on the topics of stuttering, cluttering, emotional intelligence, and stigma regarding people with fluency disorders have been published and presented nationally and internationally. She co-authored a textbook, entitled Cluttering: Current Views on Its Nature, Assessment and Treatment
