A virtual continuing education event.

Does the idea of teaching in a clinical professional program excite you? If so, you should learn the differences between teaching students in a clinical setting and teaching a clinical course. The academic environment has a distinct culture, a variety of expectations, unique systems, and new technology. This presentation will give you this information, along with tips and strategies to get your foot in the door of academia, to help you decide if transitioning to higher education is right for you.

At the end of this session, the participant will:

  1. Understand basic differences between professional and academic environments.
  2. Compare and contrast differences between the current workplace and a future academic environment to assess a good match.

Begin to formulate a plan to achieve the goal of working in an academic environment.
