Qualitative researchers learn about their participants through observations and interactions in natural settings. This workshop will focus on strategies and tools for data collection including participant observations, interviews, focus groups, and analysis of documents or artifacts. Data management tools including logs, transcripts, reflective notes, and analytical memos will also be discussed. Real-life examples from qualitative research projects will be provided to enhance learning.
