Welcome from the Bay Shore Director

John RongoWelcome and thank you for your interest in the Physician Assistant program at Touro College. The dual degree Bachelor of Science / Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies Program at Touro College is located in Bay Shore NY, with an extension center in East Meadow, NY. Touro has been educating and training Physician Assistants since 1972 and prides itself on being one of New York’s oldest and largest programs. The faculty and staff are dedicated to providing our students the finest preparatory training available.

Touro College Physician Assistant Program is unique in its ability to offer prospective students bi- annual start dates. The Bay Shore campus program begins its didactic year in August while the extension center, located in East Meadow and affiliated with Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC), starts in January each year.

The two campuses share the same philosophy: to create an environment where the education is both current as well as practical, and where students develop the skills necessary to become highly qualified members of the health care team. The curriculum, while extremely challenging, is vastly rewarding.

Our students enjoy the benefit of faculty and staff who take great pride in the profession, and value the art of medicine. This dedication to PA education is evident in the high success rate of our students on the national certification examination. Touro consistently graduates high-quality health care professionals who are exceptionally well-prepared for their careers in medicine.

I encourage you to visit our campus, tour the facilities, and meet with the faculty and admissions personnel. Doing so will only solidify your decision to start your career in medicine at Touro.

I wish you every success in your career pursuits and thank you again for your interest in the Touro College Physician Assistant Program.
