Louis Primavera

Louis H. Primavera, Ph.D.

Dr. Louis Primavera, a New York State Licensed psychologist, is trained in behavior therapy and rational emotive behavior therapy and earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in Neuropsychology from the City University of New York. He had a private practice for more than 25 years and specialized in marriage counseling. Dr. Primavera was the dean of Touro's School of Health Sciences for 13 years and founding dean of the Graduate School of Psychology at Touro University. Previously, he was the dean of the Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University for six years, and is professor emeritus at Adelphi. He also held numerous faculty, academic and administrative roles at St. Johns University, Hofstra University, Molloy University and St. Francis College. Dr. Primavera has published extensively and has interests in quantitative methods, drug use and stigma and discrimination. He held a staff position as a consultant to the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for 10 years. 
 
Dr. Primavera won the Excellence in Teaching award at St. John’s and a teaching award at Memorial Sloan Kettering. Dr. Primavera was president of the Academic Division of the New York State Psychological Association, president of the New York City Metro Chapter of the American Statistical Association and long-time board member of the New York State Metro Chapter of ASA. 

Jeffrey Gardere

Jeffrey Gardere, Ph.D., ABPP

Dr. Jeff Gardere is a board-certified clinical psychologist, who runs a private practice in NYC. He is also associate professor and course director of behavioral medicine at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine and an associate clinical director and professor in the Touro University Psy.D. program at the School of Health Sciences. Dr. Gardere is an author as well as a consultant to several global law firms, where he provides counseling and executive consultations on employee wellness and retention.

Dr. Gardere has been a contributor to the FOX Network, the Today Show, MSNBC and CNN and recently starred in the documentary film, Mental Health in Color, as well as an upcoming miniseries on group therapy. Dr. Gardere has also co-produced a number of documentary films, including You Are Not Alone, Black Gay Men and Depression; Erasing Family; Parental Alienation and the Effects on Children; and When Harlem Saved a King, The Assassination Attempt on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
