As they began their journey of learning how to keep bodies healthy, members of the School of Health Sciences Physician Assistant Manhattan Program Class of 2021 took a day to help keep their neighborhood healthy. On August 20, more than 40 future physician assistants cleaned up New York City’s Battery Park. Students fanned out across scenic area to clean up litter and debris, repaint park benches and aerate the soil along with city groundskeepers and other volunteers. We spoke with eight members of the new class about their decision to become physician assistants and the paths that led them to Touro.
