Student Employment Policy

Due to the formidable challenge the PA program presents both in the didactic and clinical years, we highly recommend students not work while enrolled in the PA program. The success of each candidate is often directly related to their ability to focus solely on their commitment to their studies.

Policy for Student Travel to Required Rotation Sites

ARC-PA Standard A3.14j

Clinical placements in the tri-state area may exceed 50 miles from our Middletown campus (average 44 miles and current maximum distance 120 miles). Students will need to have access to a car. Placement decisions are ultimately guided by meeting the individual student's need to fulfill program requirements.

Student Work Policy

ARC-PA Standard A3.02, A3.03a-b

Students are not required to work for the program. Students will not substitute or function as instructional faculty or clinical or administrative staff.

Clinical Student Identification

ARC-PA Standard A3.04

Adherence to the following dress code is the responsibility of each student during the clinical phase of the program:

Proper name tag identification must always be worn while at a clinical site. Name badges are supplied by the Program. Students must also display any facility ID received upon clearance.

Soliciting Clinical Sites and Preceptors

ARC-PA Standard A3.08

Clinical rotations are assigned by the program; students are not required to provide or solicit their own clinical sites or preceptors.
