FOCUS AREA/INTERESTS

Research Interest: My research interest includes exploring how eating disorders can impact an individual psychologically, socially, and developmentally. Additionally, I am interested in researching how schools can best support students who are struggling with eating disorders.

Clinical Interest: My clinical interest includes helping adolescents and young adults struggling with eating disorders. I am also interested in treating patients with other disorders such as anxiety and depression. Lastly, a goal of mine is to raise mental health awareness in the Iranian American community by hosting information sessions regarding important topics such as adaptive parenting practices, self-care, self-confidence, and so on.

What do you do for self-care? Self-care has always been important to me. I enjoy my skin care routine along with working out and eating healthy. Spending time with my friends and family is a highlight of the week for me. Additionally, I observe Sabbath for 25 hours at the end of each week. This allows me to take the time to rest so that I am energized for the week ahead.
