Carrie DiMatteo, PhD

Dr. DiMatteo was awarded her PhD in Basic and Applied Social Psychology at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, where she was an active member of the Cognition and Memory laboratory. She has presented widely on the psychology of self-focused attention and other cognitive constructs in social interactions. Her research has combined eye tracking and online video chats to investigate self-focused attention, including when experiencing various emotional states. More recently, Dr. DiMatteo has studied cognitive and affective aspects of the self in social media. Dr. DiMatteo offers research and teaching experience in social psychology, cognitive and affective aspects of behavior, and history and systems of psychology.
