Director's Message

Touro College is a private institution of higher learning and professional education. It was founded by Dr. Bernard Lander, a true visionary, in 1970. The Physician Assistant Program, part of the School of Health Sciences was established in 1972. Physician Assistants educated at Touro are trained to provide high quality medical care to the communities they serve with compassion, empathy and professionalism.

To further expand educational opportunities, the Manhattan Campus PA program was established in 1999 as a Bachelor level Program. This unique approach to PA education provides educational opportunities to students who may need to meet the demands of family and work commitments. This is accomplished by non-traditional scheduling of classes in the evening and on Sundays. In 2008, the PA program at the Manhattan campus transitioned to a dual degree program where upon successful completion, students will earn a BS in Health sciences and a MS in Physician Assistant Studies.

The Touro College Physician Assistant Program aligns itself with the institutional mission that is to provide educational and professional opportunity, to foster access to underserved populations and continue to build a better society for all. Additionally, supports the goal of providing academic and scholarly achievements while fostering ethical and humanistic values in the Judaic tradition.

I invite you to visit our campus. You will find an aesthetically pleasing facility, faculty and staff that are highly dedicated and committed student success, academic excellence and who value both the art and science of medicine.

I wish you great success in your pursuit of the PA profession and I thank you for your interest in the Touro College Physician Assistant Program.
