Dr. Kimberly Asner-Self is an Associate Professor in the MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. She earned her doctorate from The George Washington University and is dually licensed as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Illinois and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York.
A recognized leader in higher education and faculty development, Dr. Asner-Self received the 2008 Deanna Hawes Outstanding Mentor Award from North Central ACES. Throughout her career, including her work at Southern Illinois University, she has mentored numerous junior faculty across counselor education, curriculum and instruction, and higher education administration.
