Dr. Halima Dargan received an undergraduate degree in psychology and a master’s degree in school counseling from Xavier University of Louisiana, and a doctorate in counselor education and supervision from the University of Holy Cross. In addition to her school counseling work, her clinical experience has focused on clinical care for children, adolescents, and their families. She has worked in a variety of settings, including an elementary school, community-based mental health center, college counseling center, federally qualified health center, and private practice. Dr. Dargan’s research agenda is focused on counselor trainee supervision and mentorship, including the development of the CARES Model, a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and integrative model of clinical and school-based supervision and mentorship. She has presented nationally and internationally on the topic, with multiple validation studies in progress.
