C. Melissa Morelli-Walsh, PhD, CNM, RN, IBCLC serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nursing of Touro University's School of Health Science. She received a BS from Cornell University, BSN from the University of Pennsylvania, and her MA/PhD in Nursing Research from NYU. She is a midwife and lactation consultant at NYU Langone Health. Her research focuses on breastfeeding and human lactation’s role as a recovery tool for mothers with an opioid use disorder. At Touro's School of Health Sciences, Melissa's primary teaching includes undergraduate courses in Maternal/Child Health, Professional Nursing and Pharmacology. She also teaches and mentors students in the Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) program.
