Physician Assistant-Bay Shore/Winthrop
Your career in medicine starts here.
Physician assistants are a vital part of health care teams and the medical community. They are the front line in providing primary care to patients in both hospitals and private practices, under the supervision of licensed physicians.
Why Touro? Why Bay Shore?
We offer our 6-semester, 24-month professional program, accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA), from both our Bay Shore campus and the Winthrop Hospital Extension Center to best serve students from Long Island and the metropolitan area. Bay Shore classes begin in the fall of each year, and in January at the historic Winthrop Hospital site.
Our professors are committed to helping you develop the practical skills, comprehensive knowledge, and compassion to thrive as a physician assistant. They’ll support you every step of the way, in the classroom, in the clinical phase, and in your career planning. Not many schools can promise this level of personal attention—because we are a small, private program, we are able to look out for each of our students and guide them toward success.
Our graduates have secured great positions in reputable hospitals like Montefiore Medical Center and North Shore University Hospital, and are recognized for their excellence. Whatever your passion and area of focus, we can help you make a career of it.
Graduates from both sites earn a bachelor of science in health sciences and a master of science in physician assistant studies, while preparing to take the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA) exam and start their careers. Our students perform extremely well on their exams, with a first-time pass rate of 98.5% over the last two years, well above the national average.
